Job description

There is a requirement to undertake at least 3 home visits in person, but other assessment sessions can be completed virtually as part of a blended approach.
You will be supported by an assessment manager throughout the process and Stage 1 checks are undertaken by admin support, apart from referee interviews. Fostering applicants are also provided with a workbook which supports evidence gathering for the assessor.
The timescale for completion and presentation to panel is six months, which includes a one-month QA process.
Interviews for the role will be informal, though you will need to demonstrate you have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to complete analytic, evidence-based reports. You will also need to provide references and further personal information in line with Safer Recruitment policy.

To undertake the role, you will need the following : -

*To be a qualified and registered social worker
*Experience of foster care and family placement work and be trained in assessment
*An enhanced DBS
*Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation
*Ability to work flexibly, with a degree of autonomy, within the agency’s policies and procedures.
*A positive and flexible attitude.
*A commitment to and knowledge and understanding of Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discriminatory Practice.
*Ability to make effective use of supervision and consultation.
*IT literate in Word.
*Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
