Regional Adoption Agency Thematic Inspection Consultation - Ofsted
Ofsted will be conducting a thematic inspection of six regional adoption agencies from September 2026, following their previous thematic inspection in 2023. They will be publishing full details of the inspection data request and methodology in June and would like to ensure that the approach reflects the experience and perspectives of adoptees, adopters and the adoption sector. This will be an opportunity to gather views on specific questions. The focus of this thematic inspection will be adoption support post adoption order.
THEY ARE SEEKING PRACTICAL FEEDBACK ON AREAS SUCH AS:
• The areas of adoption support practice post adoption order that you feel are most important for the inspection to explore
• Any challenges or variations in adoption support that should be taken into account
• The feasibility and clarity of the data requests they propose to collect from RAAs
• Opportunities to capture the voice of children and adults with experience of adoption
